![]() More cabanas have been built on both beaches, and over half of them were occupied each day. The Iguana Beach lagoon is larger but shallower. A nice little pond has been built for them next to the beach entrance. At times, some of the flamingos were even parking themselves in front of people in beach chairs and dozing off. The flamingos were treated well by beachgoers. The beaches are sheltered from the stronger winds, but a nice cooling breeze is always present. Entry into the water is shallower and sandier toward the bar at the Flamingo Beach entrance, while the bottom of the lagoon has more rocks toward the cabanas. Still, the enclosed areas make for excellent swimming and floating. The snorkeling in the swimming lagoon out by the rocks was good for a couple of days, but then high waves stirred up sand and reduced visibility. The palm trees had been cut back, reducing the amount of shade. People arriving on the island after 11 am could find beach chairs, but not always in shade. The kiosk for towels and getting water sports items opened at 8 am. The first boat left at 7 am from the Marina Hotel, then picked up guests next at Ocean Suites. The week I was there, it was not crowded. The cabana was pricey.but I felt that it was worth EVERY penny! If you are trying to decide to do it or not. I don't know if they do this every day, but it was AMAZING! There were only about 12 people left on our side and it was so easy to interact with them with not a lot of people around. We stayed ALL the way until sunset and the flamingos decided that they wanted to come to our side of the island. ![]() After you are done exploring, there is a fresh water shower attached to your cabana so you can rinse off! It was a relaxing wonderful day! We never saw the iguanas but we dd make it over to the flamingo side to see the beautiful birds! They were awesome. There are steps from your private cabana down to the water for you to explore. There were children there, but it wasn't distracting at all! We were escorted to our Canbana #4002 and introduced to Donovan our butler for the day (WHO WAS FABULOUS!!!) We were then surprised with some very nice touches that they had prepared for us! The cabana comes with towels, snorkel gear, an over the water hammock, a couch, chair, table, ice chest stocked with water and sparkling wine. I have heard that sometimes it fills up quickly, but I guess we were lucky! The "Flamingo" side (Adults only) of the island was booked, so I booked on the "Iguana" (Family Friendly) side. I had reserved one online a few weeks prior to our trip. We were staying in Aruba for a week and spent one day on this fabulous little island! It was top notch from the second we stepped onto the boat that escorted us over to the island! Upon arrival, we were greeted at the dock by an cabana assistant that escorted us too our cabana.
